German fashion designer Melitta Baumeister is based in New York and earned her Masters in Fashion Design from Parsons in 2013, launching her brand shortly after graduating.
Intrigued by the sculptural quality of clothing, Baumeister often uses unusual materials and experimental techniques to exaggerate volumes and reshape silhouettes. Motivated by a challenge to textile construction, yet never losing touch with fashion archetypes, his garments offer a timeless and futuristic vision.
